A Dollar Tip

 

트럭스탑에서 기름값이 없다고 구걸하는 이에게 1불을 주면 욕을 한다. 이곳 레스토랑에서 식사후 팁으로 1불을 주면 "그라시아스"라고 활짝 웃는다. 하지만 식사후 대부분의 사람들은 그냥 일어난다. 직원들의 무뚝뚝함과 무표정은 NoTip에서 부터이지 않을까? 하지만 모든 직원이 그렇진 않다.

지난 여름의 잔인했던 허리케인은 그들의 고단한 삶을 더 척박하게 만들기에 충분 했으리라. 누구는 가족을 잃고 누구는 친구를 잃고.. 엄청난 자연의 힘 앞에 가족을 위해 친구를 위해 아무것도 할수 없었던 이들이 느낄 자괴감이 오늘 그들 얼굴에 나타나는 건지도 모른다. 이 또한 주제넘는 추측일지도 모른다. 하지만 단돈 1불에 그들이 미소 짓는다면 누가 감히 행복의 척도가 금전이 아니라 역설하겠는가...

 

If u give a dollar to a homeless at a truck stop, sometimes they are ungrateful. If you give a dollar tip at a restaurant here, they are smile and say thank you. But a lot of people here just leave without giving a tip. It might be because of the worker's attitudes here with their unhappy faces. But not at all.

I think there is a reason. Last summer, the Hurricanes left them to suffer. They are broken because of lost their families and members. Thats why appear the sadness to them. This too, might be over guessing.

However, I hope joy and happiness finds its way to everyone, everywhere.
